Creative Art is so important!
Creative
Art is composed by an amount of different areas and bonded with each other.
Creative moments deserve to have priority in a
child's day. Those moments are highly valuable for the growth and development
of the child’s human part.
In this workshop we were challenged.
On the
floor it was laying down a long piece of paper. For the painting we used a variety of colors and brushes with different thicknesses.
The whole
group shared the long paper. Each member had to find its own space and, in
harmony with the other’s work, draw it and paint it creatively.
When we
free ourselves from the rational part of us, where fears and insecurities are
hidden, the imagination flows.
During
the activity I was reminding my trip to
Gränna. Along the way I found longs and
icy lakes in a pale blue tone that matched with the sky’s colors. I saw hills and
mountains covered of white snow. Those pictures I will never forget.
The brush
drew the memory and created other shapes and forms along the way
All this work led me think.
This kind of artwork can
be done inside or outside of the activities room.
Because
of it brownish tone, this type of paper allows the child to use lighter shades in the forms and stains.
Draw with
colorful chalk directly on the floor may also be an option for the outdoors’s
painting.
To guide
the group during the activity the educator can give a theme or just let it be done as a free
painting.
Before
taking up the challenge, the pedagogue can show some inspiring artworks to
encourage the group enter in a state of creation. Painters such as Wassily
Kandinsky or as Jackson Pollock can be a source of inspiration thanks to the freedom
of movements and the harmony of shapes that characterize them. Their art creations communicate different moods, pushing art to the higher communicative point.
Listening some music during the activity will help the creative process. Our body reacts in a very spontaneous and genuine way to music. In the harmony of sounds and rhythms the child will find contours,
directions, colors and shapes. Music becomes a visual experience.
Along the
art process the child can
circulate through the group and create freely over the paper, respecting the creations of the others. The works of each member become
the work of the entire group. When that happens in a carefully and balance
manner all the group is capable to feel proud about the teamwork accomplished.
